Marian High School

Brand Development

  • Enrollment jumped dramatically the year after the branding and the ads were launched.
  • Marian’s marketing staff attributed the enrollment increase to the overall rebranding, consistency of messaging across all media, and the fact that that same message was used internally to define their mission and guide them in developing programs and other internal efforts that reinforced the position.

Challenge

Marian High School is one of Omaha’s most well-regarded all-girl Catholic High Schools and has a strong history of creating compelling marketing and recruiting campaigns. However, they were inconsistent in brand messaging and design throughout the organization. There were many good things to be said about Marian, but they needed messages that were clear and truly distinguished the school, creating increased awareness and providing the emotional pull to attract and retain students.

Solution

After undertaking extensive market research and developing positioning and brand messaging, EG stepped in and worked with the school’s brand team to refine the school logo and develop a consistent visual brand system. EG helped create wayfinding signage, sports team branding, website design, a recruitment kit, boulevard banners, billboards, postcard series, and email blasts. The recruiting campaign introduced the new positioning and messaging through print and digital efforts.

Result

Enrollment jumped dramatically the year after the branding and the recruiting ads were launched. Marian’s marketing staff attributed the enrollment increase to the overall rebranding, consistency of messaging across all media, and the fact that the same message was used internally to define their mission and guide them in developing programs and other internal efforts that reinforced the position.
